All of our appraisals are USPAP compliant and meet the SBA’s SOP requirements.  All of our certified appraisers have earned their qualifications from the reputable NEBB Institute, an organization that is recognized nationally and globally for their high standards and comprehensive training in the equipment appraisal industry.  In order to earn the CMEA designation our appraisers had to complete a training course, pass a written exam and prepare a sample appraisal report that was graded by 2 certified appraisers as well as a peer review committee. This thorough training that our appraisers have undergone ensures that our professional appraisals are defensible in any circumstance.

There are three approaches to value that are considered when appraising machinery and equipment for your Columbus based business. Our certified appraisers are skilled at choosing the best approach to value based on your appraisal needs and circumstances, ensuring that you receive accurate and reliable results.  Approaches to value considered for each appraisal include the market data approach, the cost less depreciation approach and the income approach.

The market data approach is when the market value estimate is based upon prices being paid in actual and current market listings.  The latest transactions are examined to determine a probable value.

The cost less depreciation approach is when the current cost of an asset is determined after deducting for functional and economic obsolescence, physical deterioration and depreciation.  It is based on the principle of substitution which asserts that an informed buyer will not pay more for an asset than the cost of an equivalent substitute asset that can be replaced with the same function.

The Income approach considers revenue streams in order to determine a present value.  This approach is often difficult to execute since revenue streams for single components cannot be cataloged easily.  However, there are circumstances on occasion where it makes sense to apply the income approach to an equipment appraisal.

All of our certified appraisals are USPAP compliant and meet the SBA’s SOP Requirements and are able to withstand scrutiny from the IRS, Litigation, and Banks.  Whether you need an equipment appraisal in Columbus, Bibb City, Columbus City, Custer Terrace, Fortson, Fort Benning, Upatoi, Cusetta, Glenville, Hurtsboro, Ladonia, Pittsview, Seale, Fort Mitchell, Buena Vista, Shiloh, Pine Mountain, Ridgeway, Waverly Hall, West Point, Hamilton, or other cities close by, Turner Business Appraisers is ready to prepare an accurate, defensible and timely appraisal for your business.
