Executive Officers

Jim Turner, CPA, CVA, CMEA, President

Jim is the president and founder of Turner Business Appraisers.  He is a certified public accountant, a certified valuation analyst and a certified machinery & equipment appraiser. He has appraised machinery & equipment for businesses in multiple industries (ranging from textile manufacturing to hotels, retail stores and machine shops) and regularly makes presentations at the International, State and Local Appraisal conferences and seminars. As a business owner, Jim connects with his clients and truly understands their needs. His devotion to exceed the expectations of his customers is evident in the level of care and attentiveness with which he approaches each and every business transaction.

Ed Steh, CPA, CVA
Chief Financial Officer

Ed is the CFO of the firm and assists with the management of business operations.  He is a graduate of Cornell University and earned his Masters of Accountancy from California State University-Fullerton.  Ed is a certified public accountant and earned his certified valuation analyst designation from NACVA.  Ed is adept at communication and salesmanship, making him a good ally when selling your business.

Brett Cohen, CPA, Corporate Secretary
Brett  is graduate of The Georgia Institute of Technology and obtained his Masters of Accountancy from North Carolina State University.  He assists with equipment appraisals and is currently pursuing a designation as a an ABV (accredited in business valuation) with the AICPA (American Institute of CPAs). Brett has a warm personality and is skilled at managing a large volume of assignments rapidly and accurately.

Professional Staff

Debbie King, Research Analyst

Debbie assists senior appraisers with data collection and research for equipment appraisals. Additionally, she prepares desk audits and offers administrative support for the entire staff. Debbie is also a licensed Realtor and is a valuable member of the team at Turner. She attended Central Piedmont Community College and plays piano for her church choir.  She is dependable, helpful and friendly and enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren in her spare time.

Brooke Sherrill, Office Administrator & Marketing Coordinator

Brooke assists with the design and development of marketing resources and oversees the execution of advertising and marketing plans for our clients.  Brooke regularly represents Team Turner at conferences and other customer care events in addition to handling all aspects of office administration and preparation of desk audits.  Brooke is a graduate of Appalachian State University and is very personable and articulate, making each customer feel valued and appreciated.
