Tampa Machinery & Equipment Appraisals

Tampa Machinery & Equipment AppraisalsTampa is located on the west coast of Florida near the Gulf of Mexico. The name Tampa comes from the Native American tribe of the Calusa and means “Sticks of Fire.” Many believe this is a reference to the frequent lightning storms that repeatedly happen during summer there. In fact, the Tampa hockey team got its name from these infamous lightning storms.  At one time, Tampa’s Ybor City was considered “the Cigar Capital of the World,” producing an estimated 700 million cigars a year during the height of the industry.

We have prepared numerous equipment appraisals in the state of Florida. Our appraisers are skilled at providing reliable, accurate and defensible certified equipment appraisals in Tampa and the nearby communities.  Our appraisers are extremely knowledgeable and experienced with appraising machinery and equipment of all types, including restaurants, retail stores, medical equipment, dental equipment, textile manufacturing, machine shops and hotels. Our credentials, professionalism and expertise make us your number one source for appraising machinery and equipment for your Tampa business.

There are varying reasons that a machinery and equipment appraisal may be needed.  Our certified appraisers have the capacity and qualifications to proficiently appraise equipment for your Tampa based business with the approach that will make the most sense to satisfy your appraisal requirements. Our appraisers purposefully consider three different approaches to value, depending upon the circumstances.  These include the market data approach, the cost less depreciation approach and the income approach.

The market data approach is when the market value estimate is based upon prices being paid in actual and current market listings.  The latest transactions are reviewed to conclude a probable value.

The cost less depreciation approach is when the existing cost of an asset is determined after subtracting for functional and economic obsolescence, physical deterioration and depreciation.  It is based on the principle of substitution which maintains that an informed buyer will not pay more for an asset than the cost of an equivalent substitute asset with the same function.

The income approach takes into account the revenue streams in order to establish a present value. This approach is often difficult to implement since revenue streams for single components cannot be cataloged easily.  However, there are occasionally conditions where it makes sense to apply the income approach to an equipment appraisal.

Our team at Turner Business Appraisers is practiced at choosing the most fitting approach to value for each appraisal, ensuring that results are accurate and timely.
